Bio:
Jackie McNamara is a former Scottish international footballer, manager and respected football personality, best known for his successful career with Celtic. Joining Celtic in 1995, after four years with Dunfermline Athletic, McNamara made an immediate impact, winning PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year in his debut season. Over the course of his career at Celtic he made more than 350 appearances, helping the club win nine major trophies and reach the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
A former Celtic captain and one of the club’s most consistent performers, McNamara also received the PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year award in 1998 and SFWA Footballer of the Year in 2004.
At international level, he earned over 30 caps for the Scotland national football team. Following his playing career, McNamara moved into management, taking charge of clubs including Dundee United and Partick Thistle.
