Ashley Giles MBE is a former England cricketer and celebrated spin bowler, earning 54 Test caps and 62 ODI appearances. A loyal one-club man, he spent his entire 14-year playing career at Warwickshire CCC, becoming a key figure in both domestic and international cricket. He was part of England’s iconic 2005 Ashes-winning team, a contribution that earned him an MBE.
After retiring in 2007 due to a recurring hip injury, Ashley transitioned into coaching and leadership, serving as Warwickshire’s Director of Cricket and later working with England’s national setup as a spin coach and team director. His strategic insight and calm leadership style have shaped the next generation of cricketers.
